Kealsea and Lady were great babysitters while we all worked on our parade float most of Thursday and all day on Friday. Bradley came back spoiled from being held all the time and Madeline cried the first two nights after we got home because she missed Kelsea so much. Kelsea was Madeline's buddy the last two days that we were there.
We played with Hanna, Jackson, William, McKenna and Brooklyn at their Great Grandma Ludean's. She had the irrigation water running on her garden. I remember when I was a kid water day was the best.
Madeline and Kelsea spent a few afternoons swimming in the pool. The trampoline right next to it made for some good times. Do you think that Madeline jumped in to the pool from the Tramp? No Way would be the right answer. She had a blast just the same.
My Aunt Loise had a batch of baby kitties only 4 weeks old. Madeline totally fell in love with the little orange one. I'm not sure if she loved him the most because he looked like Nana's cat or because he was the runt. My favorite was the little Siamese kitty. each of the 5 kitties was completely different from the other. They were so cute. My no cats at our house rule started to crumbled just little. I have since built it back up even stronger than before.(I hope)
We invited all of my cousins kids ( the same kids in the irrigation water pic) up to the house for a little swim party in the little pool that Grandma Kaye bought for her. I love that kids this age are just as happy as they can be with a tiny pool and 6 inches of water. Oh, and a giant foat that was the same size as the pool.
Madeline took her bike and practiced, practiced, practiced. She braved riding her bike on the dirt for only a few minutes. She just didn't go fast enough to keep from getting her training wheels high centered on the rocks. She spent her spare time riding around and around Grandma's smooth new patio. Next time we go she will be better.
The first couple of days before the cousins got there Madeline and I started building a hut up in the apple orchard behind the house. There were tons of teeny, low branches just perfect for poking out little eyes. So we trimmed the branches, put in a bridge for when the water runs through the ditch and made a few steps. When Dawna's boys and Looker came they really spiffed up the place. Just before we left to come home I climbed one of the trees for the 3rd time to tie up the rope swing. I have not climbed a tree in a very long time. I was a little bit sore the next day.
Our float was cute. It won the best all around float and $50. The pink and purple stuff all around the sides is cedar branches that we stuck into chicken wire and spray painted. My mom made the girls skirts and bonnets. The kids had fun throwing candy at everyone. After the parade Madeline said to me "I can't believe that I was in a parade today". Jared liked getting to drive the truck that pulled the float. It was his first time being in a parade too. The funny thing about the Lund Days parade is that it is usually about an hour long but you get to see it twice because they turn around about half way through town and come back. Kind of like two parade except the second parade is usually out of candy to throw.
Brother really like driving around in the Grandpa's golf cart and in Grandma and Grandpa's truck. He was not very happy to get in his car seat after getting to sit in the front and help drive around town for a week.
Madeline and Katie were best buds for the most part. They played hide and seek, ate a ton of ice cream, played in the pool and just paled around for 3 days.
We had a great time. A nice long visit to Lund was way over due. We hope that we can do it one more time before it gets cold. Thanks Mom for taking care of us. We love you.

Isn't Lund the best!!!
Those are great pictures. I have to say that the one with Madeline holding the kitties looks so much like Jared. You float looked awesome! I'm so impressed. You are so creative. (how many more times can I write so?) I'm so such a spaz. :)
Those are really great pictures and great memories. Oh, for the good old days of living in small towns!
