Little miracles

Yesterday morning I was running around trying to get out the door with the Brother in his car seat in one arm, my diaper bag and a couple other bags around my neck shewing Madeline to the car. We were late getting to preschool.

We had gotten a little ways down the road when the car started to sputter. I immediately recalled Jared's voice the night before warning me " You better get gas in the morning because the car is way out." Oh crap!

I could see the Maverick up ahead. Maybe I could make it or at least get close. Just then I felt a panic that I should pull over. I remembered that it is not easy to start a car that has run completely out of gas and that was not what I needed.

As I walked in the freezing wind the half a mile or so to the gas station holding Madeline's hood to keep it from blowing off her head. I thought of all the things that I had remembered to bring that I don't usually bring with me when I'm running her to school. I grabbed a blanket and a hat for the baby. I put a heavier coat on Madeline then I normally do and I almost ran out the door with no coat at all. How terrible it could have been.

While I was asking for a gas can an angel was listening and came to my rescue. She watched the kids while I ran out to fill the can. She gave us a ride back to our car and she didn't drive off until she knew that we were on our way. Ruth was her name. She was late too, but she didn't hesitate to help me in my moment of need.

I know that God had a hand in my morning. He help me to remember the things that I would need to keep me and my kids warm. And he made Ruth late so that she would be there to help me. It was a pretty great morning I think.

Liz,

That is awesome! And even more so that you can find the silver lining of that experience.

Someone is looking out for all of us!
