Today I am Thankful that I can run.
(all of my family who ran the 5k together)
I went for a run today thanks to Susan for watching the Bro.
It was great!
Back in April I did a 5K training called Couch to 5K. It was a 9 week program that was so easy to do. I was a little nervous before I started because I have never been much of a runner. I played volleyball and basketball in high school but I didn't really like to run.
I knew that I was way out of shape. I blame that for the terrible dream that I had been having. For the past few years I have had this reoccurring dream where I can't run. I feel like I am stuck in the mud. I hate that dream. When I started running I stopped having that dream.
I finally ran a 5k in July. 37 minutes. Faster then I thought I would be.
I have grown to like running more than I thought that I would. I run very slow. I don't mind it.
I might not go fasts but I can go pretty far. I feel so much better when I get to run regularly.
I got some new music to run to this week and that made running a lot more fun today.
A little something that I learned today is that drinking lots of water is very important if you are going to run. I got a little sick today because of my serious lack of water intake lately.
Lesson learned.
So I haven't run since the 5k in July.
About a month ago I had that dream again. Did I mention that I hate that dream.
So I made a plan with my friend. She would watch brother a couple mornings a week and I would go running. I ran 2 weeks ago and then again today.
My goal is to go 2 or 3 times a week.
I need it. It is good for me. I can't deny it anymore.
