We frequently walk back and forth from our apartment to campus and we pass by a large dumpster behind one of the buildings each time.We noticed one day that there was a pile of sand that had blown up next to the brick wall that surrounds the garbage. In that sand was growing 4 squash plants. We dug them up and put them in a planter by our flowers. The first couple of days we thought that we were going to lose them but they have perked right up. We don't know what kind of squash they are but we are very excited to find out.
