Fancy Nancy Tea Party

Today is Madeline's actual birthday. We had a party on Saturday and she kept telling her friends, " We are pretending that I am 4 today but I'm still only 3". The kids had a great time. I think that the boys enjoyed the tea party as much as the girls. The kids were all supposed to come dressed in their fanciest dress-up clothes. My favorite fancy dress up at the party was Ben Foutz. He was decked out in his cowboy boots, Happy New Year top hat and a sports coat with a big sunflower poking out of the pocket. I wish I had lined up all the kids and taken a picture of them all dressed up. They were all so cute. It is hard to see in the pictures but Madeline's hair is in many tiny braids. That was the fanciest hair do that she wanted for her party.
I asked Madeline what her favorite part of the party was and she said, "Play dough and all of the kids brought me presents, I was not expecting that." It was a pretty fun day.
Madeline help with every preparation. She helped to make the play dough, tiny heart cookies, mini cupcakes, and she wrote every guests name on a place card and drew her hand on a place mat for each kid. I think for her planning was half of the fun of the party.

For her birthday today she is having cupcakes at preschool, we are going shopping to spend the birthday money that Grandma Kaye and Grandpa Max (and Taco) sent her and then we are going to help Daddy and Nana make Chocolates. I think that all of that is more birthday fun that a four year old can handle. Lets just say that she has had a lot of timeouts this weekend.
I'm glad that she has had a fun birthday. She is a sweet little stinker pants.

I'm sorry we missed. My girls LOVE a good tea party. We tried to find ways to make it up, but then Garth ended up having to work. Tell that stinker pants we love her and we'll call her tomorrow with birthday wishes. (tonight got away from us, sorry)
