The Bunny Story Continued

I'm sure that you all have been checking my blog daily to see Madeline's new bunny. It has been an adventure. This is where it starts.

Here is a picture of the bunny that Madeline picked and worked so hard to earn enough money to buy. We now refer to her as "Black Slippers". We brought her home on Saturday evening the 27th. We played with her on Sunday, she was very easily spooked. I was worried about that. She really didn't like to have anyone holding her.

On Monday while we held her she bit Me, Madeline, and Brother. Brother bled for a very long time. I was hoping that we could some how manage to love out all of her kinks.

Tuesday Morning I dropped Madeline off at preschool and came back to the house to get the bunny to take for show & tell. She was gone. The cage was locked up tight with no bunny inside! Explain that to me please. I searched the yard 20 times just in case she got out and locked the door on her way out. Of course there was no bunny.

Madeline was not really worried about not having a bunny anymore but she was worried about all of the terrible things that could happen to a little bunny alone in the world.

We decided to replace Black Slippers. I found some bunnies on KSL for almost half what we paid for Black Slippers. Madeline had some money left over so we ran to Murry to check them out.

We looked in the cage and there was this teeny little brown bunny huddle up with all of it's brothers and sisters. We very quickly decided that she was the one for us.

Here she is... Slippers #2 or just Slippers. I know that you can't tell the difference from the pictures but this little bunny is the sweetest bunny in the whole world. When we brought her home she curled up under Madeline's neck and watched cartoons with her.

She is half the size of Black Slippers, she has short little ears, she never freaks out, she did chew a hole in two of Madeline's shirts but has never bitten any one. She will even sit on Brothers lap and let him poke at her. She is sooo sweet! We took her to Lund for Easter and then Vegas and back to Lund and them home again in a little more than a week. She was such a good girl. We love this bunny.

I hope that Black Slipper is O.K.

Having said that, what a blessing that she disappeared. Slipper is the perfect bunny for Madeline and our whole family.

We have two padlocked on the bunny cage tonight. We don't want to loose this one.

Tonight is the first night that Slippers has slept outside. I kind of want to go get her and bring her in the house for the night. I bet she is sitting by the door waiting for us to come get her.
